The I Forum оn Customs Law and International Trade, initiated by the Ukrainian Bar Association, was held on March 15, 2019.
Ivan Shynkarenko, Partner at 
, Head of Customs and Transfer Pricing practices, delivered report on “Liability for violation of customs rules: what is wrong and how to change it?”
In his speech Ivan Shynkarenko focused on the history of formation of modern system of liability for customs offenses and outlined the problems of the existing system. In particular, he underlined the defective norms of customs legislation, the disproportionate and ineffective sanctions for violating customs rules. Additionally, Ivan Shynkarenko shared his vision of solving these problems.
