Maxim Oleksiyuk, the Partner of WTS Consulting LLC delivered a report at the USUBC-KSE Conference on Legal and Governance Reform that took place on October 15, 2014 in Kyiv.The conference was held under the auspices of U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) and Kyiv School of Economics (KSE) with participation of the leading law firms of Ukraine, representatives of government and diplomatic agencies, representatives of business and non-governmental organizations. In particular, in discussion were involved: Geoffrey R. Pyatt, the United States Ambassador to Ukraine, Andreas von Beckerath, Ambassador of Sweden, Dmytro Shymkiv, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine, George Logush, President of Kyiv School of Economics (KSE), Morgan Williams, President of U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC), representatives of the National Bank of Ukraine and other guests.
WTS Consulting was the sponsoring firm of the event. The Partner of the firm Maxim Oleksiyuk made a presentation on Land Reform in Ukraine. The main provisions of this presentation were included into the White Paper “Legal Reform in Ukraine: Strategic Priorities”, that was presented at the conference. The report covers main directions of legal system reforming: 1) Fundamental legal reform which consists of provisions on anticorruption efforts, reforming of electoral legislation, court system and fundamentals of administrative reform; 2) Legal reform in the main branches of law.
